We've just bought a 09 Burgman 400. It seems great but to my mind a bit high revving. What would you expect to see on the rev counter at various speeds.
It seems to accelerate very well indeed but as yet we haven't been able to see what its like at much above 60mph.
So does the belt / rollers need changing?

they may have increased the idle speed to make it pull away quicker, what i have read about the 650 burgman you should easily be able to reach 100

He says its a 400 burgman

suzuki burgman 400 sorry, should be capable of 149kmh or 92.58 mph.

no faster than my X-EVO 400 then in fact i reckon e-vo might been slightly faster,

Xevo 400 is faster than the burgman 400 to top speed but slightly slower off the line.

My question is what revs should it be doing at say 60mph and what at 70 etc. It seems to be a bit high revving for the speed we are doing.

I don't know what they should be but if they are on the high side, perhaps someone has tinkered with the rollers or maybe the belt is slipping.

i would say look on utube there are lots of vids, have a ganders at what they are doing at a constant speed... then you can gauge what your scoot is doing,
what revs your are doing at a constant 50 or 60 or 70 and the guys whom have the same scoot can say what results you should have on their next ride

They do rev, and in 2009/10 they changed the final drive ratio so later ones rev higher,
the give away is the rev counter, the red line is set higher on the later ones but until
I look at mine I cant remember what that limit is,

Think mine did about 5750 at 60 mph
and 6500 at 70 on standard roller
but it as Doc Pulley sliders now so revs a little lower,
5400 at 50 and 6000 at 70
