I no longer have a scoot, now own a Honda CB500X, but I recently rented a Yamaha Xmax400 in Spain and had a weeks touring. Thought I would post up a video of one of my Airbnb lodgings and the road in, just in case anyone is looking for a recommendation.

And just as important, what did you make of the scoot?

I loved the Xmax400, nice comfortable scoot with some useful power when needed. Great for just relaxing and taking in the scenery and it was also great in town. The seat release was a bit hit and miss, but maybe that was due to it being a rental, fuel economy was good, but I didn't work out what the average mpg was. I have always liked the Yamaha Xmax, but when I seen it was in 400cc spec I thought you can't go wrong. I do think my old Honda SH300 would leave it standing at the lights.

The 500X is a great bike, I have had it for over a year now and done 8000 miles on it. I am 5'6" tall and it fits me just, as I have a short inside leg. I was originally going for the NC700X, but glad that I waited and saved £1000. I get better mpg than I used to get on my old SH300, I normally get over 300 miles to a tank. Check out the CB500X riders forum as there are many owners the same height as yourself. If you do go for one, changing the screen is a must for better wind protection. If you have a look on my YouTube channel you will see many videos of it being ridden.

i had a 500x Richie, it was a great machine only sold it cos of my duff leg...i keep getting a geared bike every now and again just to see iff the foot will change gear for me..it does for about an hour then i keep on missing the gears so i sold it before i knackered the gearbox...
Would DEFO have another if the leg worked and for the money they can't be beat.
