Kymco Downtown 300i ABS

Post by gn2 »

Very good news that Kymco have upgraded the UK spec Downtown 300i to ABS with a price increase of £200.
Not at all unreasonable given that it has been the same price since the UK launch four years ago.
And as if that wasn't enough, it has a proper mph speedo as well!

I wonder if Kawasaki will follow suit with the standard J300...?

That's excellent and as you say very good value. Maybe it's down to more people asking for abs.

About time. I called them early this year to be told that they would not have abs on this scooter, so I told them I wasn't interested.

But I cannot see any mention of a proper mph speedo anywhere. The one shown in the video is km/h only.

I believe someone on here has one with an mph speedo.
Local dealer has one for sale used which they suppled in 2012 and it has one.

Its the same with all things if you dont have the same gadgetry or thingame bits you will loose sales fact ! . It always used to be point of sale extras and add ons ,those days are going as the consumer expects it all already on it .

Personally from an aesthetic point of view I prefer the Sym joymax/joyride 300i that comes with ABS & is even cheaper.

Sym Joymax 300i is certainly a nice looking machine but does not have a proper speedo and is more expensive at £4299

Thats because you are a man of quality and common sense. SYM rules get over it.

Ah yes I remember now :D

If I had known that Downtowns from 2012 onwards had proper speedos I might just have bought one instead of the Forza.
Could have saved myself circa two grand. Grrrr.
Still, the Forza has ABS and is doing a fine job what with its good economy and nice long service interval.
