Terry, I saw this about a week or so ago and did point in out to Horabags before he bought a new one! On the surface it does appear to be a bargain but reading between the lines I would say that it has finance owing. Why don't you send the guy an email and specifically ask him that question. Also, Broxbourne is just a short ride up the A10 from junction 25 on the M25 so you could always ask to go along to inspect it!

There's a Silverwing in the background and a skip crammed full of rubbish.

I like the orange one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Low-Rate-Fina ... 1479000074" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?

Yeah - you must be very careful!! He says if you buy it, 'he'll pay off the finance'. It depends on what sort of finance he has - if its a bank loan or similar, thats fine. If its a Hire Purchase agreement, then the scoot legally belongs to the finance company and isn't his to sell, and you could land yourself in legal shite if you buy it and the other guy doesn't pay the money back (there's a case just like this on the Guardian website today).

Give the finance co a call, get agreement that YOU pay the finance first, with any balance to the owner.

Then you can bargain with them for an early close discount. They will tell you they can't, because it's not in the contract.

You then point out you have no agreement with em, only money for them, then wait five mins while the gwockle on the dog goes and gets permission from his gaffer.

Result? Bargain..!

i bought this guy's previous bike in Feb this year - my current s-wing. He's a nice enough bloke and even followed up with a call a couple of days after I'd bought it. I've had no issues with the bike and there's been no surprises so I wouldn't have a problem buying from him again.
