four things decide my weekend re. ride outs .. ;)
1. what time I get up
2. the weather
3. is my football team home or away ( and if away do I fancy the trip ) ... at home this saturday
4. is the mrs. working ? ... she is this sunday

mostly I tend to do afternoon/evening rides

I`m sure I saw a post about Jodrell bank this sunday at 11.00 ...... but cant seem to find it now ??? :?

Hmmm, seems a bit of a drought. Its a bit late in the season to make regular plans (the unpredictability of weather etc).
Would it be possible if a group of like minded scooterists from the north of England, say from nottingham/Derby, taking in yorks, lincs lancs and up as far as durham /northumberland cumberland. Were to arrange a suitable meet perhaps say once a month at most twice monthly, sat or sun to suit. Surely this could be done and interested riders could suggest meeting in their area at a cafe, lead a ride to another cafe for lunch or the like and then disperse in a homeward direction. Would anyone be interested in this next year? Maybe a trial meet in October if the weather remains fine. Barry knows teeside, x10 whitby area, I know south yorks/north notts. Who else would like to join in? It may be that a south based ride may be a bit far for the geordies, but then the next ride could go north and be a stretch for the yellowbellies.?.......

Not sure there's a drought. There's been a few meets over the summer.
If I've only a few hours spare, it's a quick decision and I have a blast round Notts with Clive.
During the winter, we've done Mablethorpe for the sand racing.
If there's an Ugly Bunch meet, they tend to be various places in Derbyshire or out towards Ravens Cafe.
This suits me, in Derbyshire, Lyn in N. Wales and the others who live in Stoke or Manchester area
If you're travelling more than a couple of hours, it becomes a pain in the arse.

Alan hasn't taken his medication. He probably put the meet up for Sunday, forgetting that there's an Ugly Bunch wedding do on the Saturday night.
No one will be in a fit state!

Thanks ... good to know that my medication IS working and that I wasnt seeing things

The last couple of years have been bad ones for me, on a personal basis, and I have only recently got back on 2 wheels after a 6 year break, but I am hoping to get back into doing some decent touring ( home and abroad ) next year ;)

Riders such as myself and Meldrew don't "plan" any rides (unless Meldrew is on his continental rides) we just get on and go. Not being interested in group meetings or rideouts, and riding every few days, all year round I find it amusing when people start saying last ride of "the season". I wear certain clothes when it's warm and change when it gets colder to thicker gear , some of the best rides are the ones done in the winter, and just wandering around roads i haven't been down before. On my latest bike i have had fitted heated grips, along with my handlebar muffs iam hoping for warmer hands this year. :)
