Has anyone heard of those cheap bikes call direct bikes from the company called direct bikes, my piaggio xevo 125 died and I'm looking for something to tie me over for a while.
Is it worth the while getting one or not?????
Thanks in advance

If you're good at spannering they're not too awful.
I had the pleasure of riding a 50cc one which is in regular use by its owner for a ten mile each way commute
After initial teething trouble cured by changing the battery, it has proven reliable thus far.
They are a total p.i.t.a purchase, you have to do your own p.d.i, registration etc. And there's no warranty or proper dealer network.
Far better to get a Lexmoto/Pulse/Sinnis from a dealer.
Edit: Here's a used Vienna, asking price £800, you could probably get it for less.....?

Would be cheaper to replace the engine in your X-evo.

I'd rather get a 2nd hand anything than a brand new Direct Bikes scoot.
For example: Honda nes 125 with 7k miles for a grand (sure you could knock it down to 900 quid)

If you are foolish enough to buy from Direct bikes, make sure you pay on a credit card as that way your card issuer is jointly liable for your purchase and you can get your money back from them if required (not a quick process though)
Plenty of reports of shoddy customer service too:

I had a Baotian for a while as a little runabout whilst I was doing a short course at the local university. I was well pleased with it , very easy to work on and sold on for a good price. I fond Baotian UK a good company to deal with

T&G gave this a good write up recently:

They were originally £1400 I think and stock is being cleared.
