Consumption on my new(to me) 400 L1 burger had been showing at a nominal 15.6 miles/litre, Saturday with a full tank I zttended the R.T.T.W. from the meet at motorway services south of Sheffield, Ride down was at speeds up to 80mph in places and the ride home was steady 70 to a bit more in places. Totalof 173 miles completed and the burger gave 15.5mile/litre. Since filling up the consumption shows 16.8. Happen the bike needed a good run to clean the cobwebs out of the engine. Happy days,

By B400 behaved the same, it was only used in London in it's early life, I released better fuel economy when I cleaned the air filter and nailed it, and have come to the conclusion that best economy is at about 5000-6000rpm, when the gearing is at it's highest. Happy days.

Plus 1 on the 5-6k revs for economy Dave. Amazes me just how economical the 400 motor can be, while delivering the performance that it does.
