After trolling in Japan, I found these; much wider and better than the "Foam Things" Yamaha makes...
If THIS winter is anything like LAST winter, you'll need them.

They look quite nice, though maybe a bit OTT. The mk4 has some tiny hard strips instead - they allegedly give some crash protection to the bodywork, but also seem to deflect wind away from your legs - the mk4 is certainly better in this respect than the mk3

Laminar Lip will help too. I had the X9 up to 75 yesterday with my visor open with no wind.

A Lip on my mk3 was very successful, though I'm not sure I could have ridden visor up!

You should wear trousers when on the scoot, very effective at keeping wind off your legs.....

Suzuki sold similar things for the big Burgman. Very effective at keeping the wind out, but you had to remember to slide your foot back BEFORE trying to put your foot down - which for some reason I my brain refused to remember, causing some scary moments!
