Jimo from Fakenham - Hello

Hi Guys,
It's taken me months to get here because something went astray in Registration, I'm new to Burgies but have been biking for some 66 years, also have Sunbeam S8 used in good weather.

Can't ride the Burgie (400K8) at moment as all sorts of things have gone wrong since having heart attack on August 25 (Bank Holiday), trouble at moment is with legs that are wobbly and need stents to increase blood flow, this is in course of preparation currently.

Before the h/a I had a test drive on the Burgie and really loved it, at the time I had a Honda CN 250 from new in '90, I go to Whitwell Station Bike Nights weather permitting and first saw a Burgie there where I was able to compare it with my CN250 and made up my mind to get one. A short time later I dropped in to CJ Ball in Norwich and found & bought the K8.

I doubt I'll ride much in the winter but look forward to some nice rides next year and meeting other Burgie riders in the area.

Jim

Hello & Welcome :) I'm new here too, last time I went to Fakenham on a bike it was Yamaha RD250E (last of the air cooled model) memorable because it was the last time I got a speeding ticket  (entering South Creek at rather more than 30  )

The one thing I noticed when I test rode my Burgie was that keeping within 30 mph is not easy, the bike doesn't seem to be 'on song' at low speeds. When using the car I always use cruise control even at 30 or I might have been knicked many times.
Pity Burgs are not fitted with same - unlike the BMW 'Blood Bikes' I've seen, although these had been disconnected for their use.

My annual mileage is unlikely to be great, probably less than 1K but enjoyment is the thing - and that 'Burgy Smile' !
