Hi all, after some 20+ years of riding big bikes ive downsized to a xmax 400 scooter (from a BMW K1200R) to my daily commute.

Had it 1 month/500 miles before clipping that bazooker of an exhaust on a car - managed to stay on despite serious snaking and skidding.

The bike has been in for repair now longer that I've owned the bike, with a further delay given an estimated 1 Dec completion???? 2 months for panels and an exhaust???

Has anyone had any better luck sourcing parts or is the insurance company stalling? Thanks in advance.

I can't say I've ever heard about parts supply issues from Yamaha, but pretty sure we've all heard comments on some repair companies efficiency (or lack of), so I'd suspect the issue isn't the scoot but the people repairing it?

When you eventually get it back I'm sure you'll see plenty of benefits over the winter months, just maybe fit an aftermarket (smaller) can to help with filtering!

I would say its a combo of insurance company and parts availability, it took 6-8 weeks for me to get my MK3 TMax back after I got rear ended a couple years back.

Welcome to the forum , I too damaged my exhaust shield (backed it into a wall oops ! Parts were here in three days max, same goes for front cover ( warranty part) not me . Parts supply pretty good these days gone are the days of six week waits for bits think you need to talk to your dealer or insurance company . Phil at tinklers in Norwich is very helpful and if you explain will check on parts availability for you im sure (shut Thursday) . What damage did you do ?
