Thanks. Looking forward to picking it up but not the 55-60mile ride back to West London in the forecast weather with NO HEATED GRIPS !!!

a good pair of gore tex gloves, or use a base layer glove under your normal gloves will keep the cold off your fingers. enjoy

For a quick fix if you have got to get fuel get a pair of diesel gloves and wear them under your normal gloves ,will be very toasty . I always pick up a pair when fuelling up .

Well.... The long ride home from picking the bike up was ummmm... interesting!
Awoke on the Saturday morning to find a light dusting of snow outside and zero temperature. To hell with it I thought, I'm still going. So we headed up the M1 towards Northampton with it sleating and snowing all the way. My wife and I exchanging glances all the way which said "what the freak am I doing attempting this on a day like today?"
As we turned off the M1 the last 20miles started to improve a bit and the weather was switching to rain. I saw this as a positive as it would wash out anything that dared to settle.
Anyhoo, got there, picked the bike up and headed for home. Decided to avoid the M1 as the salt spray was pretty bad, so I took the A5 back to London instead. 30mins into the journey and I had to stop. My right hand had turned into a useless aching frozen claw
Defrosted it, then carred on for another 30mins before having to stop again. It was steadily snowing by now. I have proper winter leather gortex gloves but the conditions combined with stead 50-60mph road speed was causng my thumbs and outer 2 fingers on both hands to freeze up.
Finaly made it back after diverting to Infinity motorcycles to pick up an Oxford Hot-Grips Touring kit and installed them the same afternoon. Dead easy on a 2013 tmax as the main battery power connections for the loom are extended all the way up to the front of the bike, just underneith the front cover. I was expecting to have to strip the bike to access the battery. Took the bike out yesterday in the dry to try them out. Sooooo much better. Infact they're so good I couldn't run them at 100% and regular town speeds as they got too hot The bike performed great on the way back btw as you'd expect.
