Early spring ride.

Well, Spring seems to be arriving so today I rode the Burgman to Lowestoft and back. I went by a pretty direct route using the A47 and A12 but returned by the A146 and A47.
The reason for the trip was to drop off a new jacket for my niece and to have a look at her new 650 Burgman. She had finally traded in my old (2005) 400 Burgman which had over 85000 miles on the clock. I was mightily impressed. :D .
The trip to Lowestoft was pretty uneventful but the return trip was hairy on the A47 west of Peterborough. Diesel oil or something similar had been spilt on the road for a couple of miles.

85k on a burger is really hard core. Any problems? Respect to the lass.

Eric, I have one guy with a 2009 400cc Burg with 88,000 miles now on his clock. I fitted a new variator at 80,000 miles and a new clutch at 60,000. Those are the only issues he had and those are normal wear and tear items anyway. It's coming back for a routine service around May. He's determined to see how far it goes before going bang. But my assessment of the bike is it won't go bang for a very long time so he's going to be stuck with it for ages yet.

Keep us informed with the progress data. Might be nice to have a 100k ride out in honour of the 'ol lass
