wannabe Burgman rider

Post by wilsonsteve »

Evening, folks.
I'm looking to get back into biking - had to stop three years ago because arthritis in my right hip meant I couldn't get my leg over.
Pause for sniggering to die down . . . . . .
Now with a new hip I'm looking for a different biking experience and am seriously looking for a 650 to buy, so if you know of any around . . . . . . ;)

Welcome. Those 650's are heavy buggers! What use do you plan for it? Have you considered the 400?

I would consider a 400, I think its a better bike, less strain on the hip for you, a bit lower narrower seat, more storage space, much better MPG, lower road tax. Not much difference in performance and if anything better on longer journeys.
I've owned a 2009 B650 and B400 and will have another 400 with ABS some time.

Thanks to all for the welcome, and thanks to Dave for some interesting info. How does the performance of the 400 measure up against the 650?

i would get a test ride on one as thats the only way you will find how easy to tunnel mount the scoot and the performance you need, you will be presently surprised , they are very comfy for your hip also
