Well It was time to take the Joymax for it's first major service. Got up yesterday morning to a lovely sunny day, which was great, as the dealer is 30 odd miles away. Run up was great and dropped scoot off at 9.30am and had a wee wonder round the town, which has two major highlights. A shortbread biscuit factory and a fantastic whisky shop. So after buying a bag of reject shortbread and a bottle of Tobermory single malt! It was time to collect the Joymax.

£65 later I was off to visit a friend who lives 15 miles away. He met me about 5 miles from his home, so we swapped bikes and headed to his. He has a ER6N, which was a change for me, but the big surprise was when we got back to his he couldn't stop raving how good the scoot was. I think we may have another muppet in the making. He was going to check out the Maxsym 600 online!

After leaving his it was a 35 mile cross country visit to my in-laws as my other half was meeting me there. After lunch and coffee and a visit to the garden centre it was the 20 mile trip home. So all in all had a great day on the scoot, first decent ride out since last year. And still loving the Joymax!!

Mine usually boils down to, drop the bike/scoot off and carry on to work, then pick it up when finish.

I think the Joymax 300 is possible the best scooter on the market bar perhaps the Vespa, which is in a slightly different category. For riding fun and do-everything capability my GTS 300 Voyager (the version before yours) is still I think my favourite - although I had to customise the rollers, seat, mirrors and underseat to get there .

No surprised your friend like it, my only concern is that he thinks the 600 will be even better, whereas in reality is will be faster and heavier which is great if you are into that - but definitely not better.

I'm currently checking the fork oil on my GTS300 (and may take them to a specialist) as the fork ride is very choppy under braking - how is the Joymax front end under braking? Rumours were that my model had unequal amounts and sometimes lack of fork oil from the factory.

Yeah was a great day out. Had no issues with the forks, it handles very well. Heard from my friend last night and he has been on you tube watching Maxsym videos! He's hooked. I think he's keen on the 600 because his commute is around 40 miles a day, but it would be no issue for a 300 scoot, but typical bike owner, must have the biggest engine!! And as for the service cost, brilliant, as GN2 said half the price of the Honda dealer! Spaceprobe how has your first year been with the Maxsym?
