BMW C600 scratches in black plastic step thru area

Post by leid »

Hello all,

This really seems like a very informed group! At your convenience, I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a proven way to remove these scratches simply caused by shoes/sneakers.

Thanks.

Ok there are various ways of repair to these types of plastics . Firstly if they are only minor applying heat gentley to the area can remove the finer marks . The other option for textured plastics is to sand down the area if the damage is deep ,then clean and spray on some textured plastic repair paint . The cans normally have 2 nozzles to allow for a coarse or fine texture . You can also use some silly putty to make a mould to replicate your texture and then press this onto the heated repair area to make the repair.

polishing the marked areas should remove it, is it rubber marks or is it where the paint work has been scratched through the lacquer?
