Hi folks

Post by Joy Rider »

I've just come back to biking after riding a 500 twin in my teens many years ago, more than I like to admit to. As a retired driving instructor I now find cars of any ilk intensely boring and hate gear changing! Basically I was thinking about just nipping around fairly locally, but since buying a Burgman my enthusiasm has returned in leaps and bounds.

I bought an old one owner 250 with less than 15,000 on the clock about a year ago and I am delighted with it's performance condition and comfort. It has great acceleration and will do over 80 with ease. Not that I'm a crazy rider but like to get away quite quickly on roundabouts for safety reasons and to be able to pass people hogging the road. Actually wouldn't mind a 400 but I'm OK for the moment and I find this little maxi an absolute joy to ride and it has just passed it's MOT with ease.

I believe you have a meet at Duxford on 6th June and as I live in Peterborough, not very far away would like to attend. If I've got that right and all is well hopefully will meet up with some of you.

Cheers all for now,

Alan. :)

Buenos tardes all.

Here living in Tenerife which is possibly the best place / climate etc to own a Moto ( motorcycle or scooter ). Am thinking of buying a Burgman 400 unfortunately there are not too many good secondhand for sale on the islands . A few secondhand for sale privately in Gran Canaria and a couple here in tenerife . There is a Suzuki and Kymco dealership in Santa Cruz (an hours drive from Golf Del Sur ) where I have already trialled the new Kymco 400. This proved to be very quick on the take up and great brakes ! Unfortunately the storage space is not half as good as the Burgman 400 so it looks like Burgman here I come . I hope to find a Suzuki dealership that will let me have a demonstrator out for a couple of hours for comparison , and the icing on the cake is the good exchange rate ......... at the moment !

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.
