Ferries to where?

Post by Gerard C »

After the meet at Duxford I was chatting to Meldrew and the topic of Ferrries came up. I've been looking on t'net and I can see references to Ferries to Scandanavia. When I look deeper they don't seem to exist anymore. So to throw it out there - does any one know of a current ferry to that part of the world?

I believe DFDS stopped doing them about 2008 and the only crossing now is Harwich to Esbjerg then make your own way North.

And on checking it appears now only the Hook of Holland

It appears to be all internal ferries from Norway so guess it's ride n sail

Doesn't look promising

Meldrew link above states they sail so might take a bimble down to the port see if I can find a booking office as cabin £70 + PTW £20 seems reasonable

I don't know how it works but some cargo ships sail to Norway from Imingham and can take a few bikes or a car some guys in the HD riders club used it a few years back

Post a link, please; there are no direct crossings from the UK to Scandinavia in the drop-down routes on DFDS websites, except for freight, that I've looked at.

Here's a Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DFDS_Seaways
