National Meet Thank you

Hi Everybody
Just a quick thank you to all who made the effort to come along to the National Meet at Duxford.
Most of the comments have been very positive but a couple of lessons have been taken on board.
For next year I think another meet is in order, but perhaps make it over two days. This will mean looking for a location where various levels of affordable accommodation is available.
Two days would allow those that want to have more ride out time. Ideally the meet point would be with something else in the area to keep the others occupied. I realise Duxford was expensive. We could have got a discount, but it meant making a commitment before hand. (Personally I love the place, but that's a hangover from my ATC days).
I misjudged the time taken to travel with a 125 in the group so was a little behind schedule. So next time I would like to be earlier and make sure that everyone else was welcomed. For some new members I know this was an issue but in my own defence, we are a pretty loose group and I only know a relative few by sight. Still lesson learned.
I want to thank the member on the Piaggio who lead the ride to Duxford by the scenic route, it saved me trusting my untrustworthy Sat Nav. Also the experienced members who automatically slipped into "drop off" mode making it easy for the riders following to follow the route without pressure or indeed getting lost. It worked very well.
All in all I thought a success and I am very encouraged to do it again. Hopefully theres more faces to names and people are encouraged to come to any meets organised. Once you make that initial effort its a great bunch of people to meet.
So once again thanks to everyone for coming along and I hope you - despite the wind - enjoyed the day.
Regards Gerard C
