Not wishing to incur your wrath, I begrudgingly introduce myself- recent new owner of Burgman 650, just because I still like poodling about on two wheels, and don't feel comfortable on a "proper" bike anymore. I'm still finding out about the virtues of a big scoot, and also still considering a goldwing. What gives with no-one waving anymore?- are we not all fellow bikers, sharing the same excitement and risks? Hello to everyone. Pip. (Not very original, eh!)

Welcome! That's the best maxi scooter!
To give you an idea, I'm more of a Harley kind of rider however I'm my case, I'd need time to enjoy it. Power wise I think the 650 is not the best but close one, however in comfort and equipment is the best. I'd love a GW as well but couldn't take to London e.g something I do pretty often

Welcome. I've too changed from motorbikes to scooters and have only one regret that being, as you say ,the lack of nods and waves from other riders. I always nod or wave to everyone on two wheels scooterist or biker. Always had a response when I was on my motorbike but seldom do now I'm on a scooter. Don't know why but it certainly will not stop me. Just makes a response even better when it happens. Enjoy your scooter and I look forward to seeing you on a ride out .

Hello and welcome Pip. Shame about the lack of recognition from most bikers. However I was in the petrol station filling up and got a nod from a "Hells Angel" he left before me but caught up with him after about 10 miles (on the M61) I passed him as he was pootling along looked in my mirrors and saw he was coming after me, I thought here we go anyway he just pulled in front and we rode in formation for a while but I was meeting someone at Glasson Dock so had to make some progress pulled out to overtake him and he gave me a thumbs up and a big smile! so not all bikers are ignorant.
