Hi rlkat and welcome. Nothing wrong with the Transalp why do you want to change? If you just fancy trying the T-Max then get a test ride, I'm sure the T-Max will speak for itself that it is just about the best maxi you can get for riding fun and practicality.

Re: From Transalp to T-Max...
I'd go for it without a second thought. In well over 50 years of riding I think my Mk3 T-Max is possibly the best bike I've ever had. Acceleration is good, roadholding very good, handling up to good motorbike standards and braking is exemplary. Luggage capacity, although not nearly as good as most maxi-scoots, is far better than any motorbike. Twist-and-go is great fun; who needs to change gear anyway? It even sounds great, it's comfortable and above all, it's FUN. Just do it!

A nice late Deauville 700 would complement the stable. Same engine as tranny with shaft and boxes built in.

I just fancy a change. Done many a mile on various Transalps. What I need a bike for has changed and the T-max looks like fun. I do my own serving and maintenance so just looking in to that aspect of ownership as the Transalp was easy to work on (apart from front tappets) and has been utterly reliable.
