Burgman AN650 Heated Grip Lights coming on

Hi fellow Muppet's
I own a Burgman AN650 ALO 2011. I changed my oil in April last week I was out for a ride and the "change oil" warning came up.
When I got home I checked on a forum how to put it out, the first time I pressed the "reset" button turned the ignition on and nothing happened. On further investigation I pressed both the "select and reset" buttons simultaneously turned on the ignition and great news it flashed and reset.

Now for the bad bit, it may be coin'cidence but having just reset the oil light I noticed looking down at the heated grip control the bottom light was flashing.
I turned the ignition off the light goes out, as soon as the ignition is turned back on the light starts flashes and when the scooter is started the light goes out. I run through all the functions of the heated grips and all works well, making sure that the grips were turned off I switched off the engine as soon as I turned the ignition back on it started flashing again.
I spoke to my local dealer but they did not have a clue, I then contacted Suzuki UK they did not want to know.

Has anyone come across this problem and can offer some help. I luv this bike it does everything I want of it. it's just coming up to 5000 miles on the clock, what I don't want is to brake down because of an underline electrical problem.

Thank's
Alan S

Yes, it's the voltage warning saying that you do not have enough to run the heated grips. Go for a long run or charge your battery.

Thank's for that, The battery has been on trickle charge for about a week the charger indicates it' fully charged but the lights still comes on. I think the next thing to do is to get a new battery as it's now four years old.

Go Yuasa or other quality battery - pay the extra over a cheapy rob hunter type... specially with autumn and winter round the corner...

It could also be your regulator braking down ready for a change get one from electrex they supply all the big dealers, you could have delivered a couple of days

Just a bit of a guess, but you could you still have a good battery etc and low voltage at the grips if you have a poor connection, part broken wire in the supply to the grips. Presumably the grips have some means of sensing low voltage, and that could be for a variety of reasons.

Check your charge at battery without engine running and then with 14 plus is a good charge do this before you look at anything else.

Sorry - didn't pick up the bit where you say the light goes out when you start the engine. Like Victor said a check of battery voltage with and without engine running would help. Possibly Google the grips to see what voltage they need to make light go out?
