Happy new year!
I'm Gaz, I'm WAY the right side of 55 and I'm about to take possession of my new Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive tomorrow morning.
It's been a while since I had one...the last was a 250 which I had for about 6 months and then some thieving scrote nicked it from outside my brother's house one evening... Since then I've had a couple of Hondas, specifically a CB500 (got nicked) and a CB450 (still got, needs work, when I get some time spare...)
Long story short, for a laugh I put in a claim for PPI against Barclays Bank and Barclaycard, thinking a couple of hundred quid would be useful. Barclaycard got back to me beginning of December with a cheque- for twelve and a half grand. Then Barclays followed suit on Xmas day with a further two and a half grand. So I bought the Burgman.
I'm not saying I'm looking forward to getting it but I've already bought a new Caberg, Gloves, jacket, three hundred quids worth of chains, alarmed disc locks and such...and I don't even get it until tomorrow...it's a 12 plate Exec, 17,000 miles, and I fell in love with it pretty quickly...as long as it took for me to get back from a test ride on a TransAlp and needing help getting off it...getting old SUX!
So...what do I have to look forward to? And what do I need to watch out for? What security devices would you suggest? Tracker? Lasers? Landmines?
I'm planning on using it for work...I am a landscape contract manager for a housing authority, and I also plan to use it for days out... I would love to tour France and Spain on it, but I'm not sure I could get Seren a PUPPYDOG! (her spelling, not mine) to sit on the passenger seat for all that long...
So that's me. Hi.
Happy new year and Hi
