Heated seat for a 400 (2015)

Having just frozen my butt this morning, I am thinking I might like to invest in a heated seat.
Suzuki are promoting 15% off all accessories at the moment, so it's going for around £420 at the moment.

The question is..... how easy is it to wire up? I loath paying the dealer to fit it if it's a "plug and play", and I can't find any reference to fitting instructions on the net.

Can someone please enlighten me??

I would get a Gerbings heated vest instead. Easy to wire to the battery, much more useful heat and you can take it with you to your next bike.

Also much cheaper (about 150 quid) and a lifetime warranty.

Also if you are wearing Gortex or good breathable kit the moisture migrates from warm to cold areas - so the heated seat could send water the wrong way, into your clothes instead of out.

I ride all year and I've looked at heated clothing but what puts me off is that I just know I will forget to disconnect my self. I like the heated seat and grips on my 650 Burgman and its true that thick winter gear. insulates you from them but by the time it percolate through you have ridden long enough to be frozen without them. I can stay warm enough for the distances or time I am out for. it's more of a worry that if I isolate myself too much then I become unaware of road conditions.

Thanks for the comments so far ..... My commute is fairly short (around 15 mins drive), so I don't wear heavy winter gear.
If it rains it's lightweight over trousers and if VERY cold, insulated over trousers. My top half is fleece, fleece jacket and waterproof coat (Berhaus or similar).
It's the frost on the seat and the cold that permeates through my butt cheeks that I want to stop!

7 quid, job done. Can be plugged into the cigarette port or wired to the battery.
