Hi folks am collecting a 2000 burgman 400 next week. I've been riding older vespa and lambretta scooters since 1992. Have been thinking about the burgman for a couple of years and have decided to take the plunge.milage is at 50k touring miles. Should I change belt straight away for peace of mind and what is the cost involved. Thanks in advance for any help Sean.

Hello Sean, and welcome. I got a belt for an ATV to fit my k5 Burgman from Jim Allan Motorcycles in Falkirk last year. It was a bit less than £50 IIRC I had a quick look at the site they seem to be selling off their scooter stuff (under end of line sale) You might do even better if they have the size! There's cheap rollers too!
Are you in Athlone, or from there and over here?

I just had a look. Search our site for "Jim Allen" It was £64! (less than half the Suzuki article)

Welcome Sean, as a traditional scooterist I've recently moved to the darkside & love it!!!! Still have my beloved Vespa 210 but spend most of my time on my T-Max

Much fun on the way back from Woolacombe last year, overtook trailored scoots on the M5
