New Satelis owner.
New Satelis owner.
Hello, long term scooterist, Lambretta and Vespa rider just bought a Satelis 250 for work and I'm having a nose about for info, especially how the ABUS chain works.

Re: New Satelis owner.
Hi. Search for Satelis 250 threads - I've posted a lot about my three Satelis.
To use the ABUS, you first locate the keyhole inside the boot on the rear panel. Turn the key 180° and then you're ready. Take the chain and either feed it through the wheel or around a nearby secure anchor point. Pass the blunt end of the chain through one of the links at the other end of the chain to make it loop on itself. Then push the blunt end into the hole on the outside of the rear panel as far as it goes. Turn the key back 180° to lock.
If you Google for Satelis ABUS the first couple of images that come up show you the basics.

Yes, this is a difficult area. The carrier is very expensive and the reality is if your bike does but already have one, forget it: they are very expensive and rare, even secondhand. Sorry.geofpanic wrote:cheers, also looking for a topbox and backrest but I'm not holding out much hope.
Maybe look for a tunnel bag instead.

cheers, sussed the lock just as you said by finding an image (I couldn't find where to put the key) topbox was so I could take my young lad on the back as he's a bit up in the air without anything to lean on. might have to think of another plan. thanks for the reply.
