Another new Satelis owner

Hi,

I too have just bought a secondhand Satelis 250 Executive, which has the ABS/PBS braking system. The handbook explains that -

- combined front and rear braking is controlled by the LH lever
- braking assistance and ABS is provided on the front wheel
- the right brake is a "secondary brake" which only applies to the front brake

I'd be grateful if someone with experience of this system can explain to me the best braking techniques that should be applied with this arrangement. Should the brakes just be used normally or what?

It also seems unclear from the handbook info whether ABS/PBS is activated when the RH lever is operated, or is it only activated by use of the LH lever.

Thank you.

I don't think that the ABS will alter the usual practice of braking with linked brakes - you normally just use the left lever, as this proportions the front and rear braking effect to improve the scooter handling by stopping the front forks diving - you use both levers together if you need to stop quickly

Correct. Pull the left lever with normal pressure and the system will even out the balance and, if necessary, activate the ABS. You do not need to touch the right lever at all

The powered and ABS elements of the brake system will not function if you pull the right lever alone.

I had three Satelis 250 Executive and have done around 70k miles on them in total.

Anything else bothering you? :)
