Howdelly doodelly scooterinos.
What a great resource this forum is, I've been reading old threads for hours.
Anyhooo... I want to fit a top box to my Burgman 400z but I understand that in order to do that I need to replace the back panel for one without a back rest. If that is the case, where might I get one (in black) and how much (ish) will it cost please?

I have a 400z on a 14 plate you can use your original plate but you have to drill 4 holes in it. I picked one up for £30 off eBay it's a different shade of black but once the top box is on you can't tell the difference.

The original plate on mine seems to be molded to accommodate the back rest. Was yours like this?

Yep lift the seat you'll see 2 cross head screws pop them out then the panel lifts off but be careful as its clipped as well. Or if your really not sure go on to Givi site download fitting instruction it'll show you what needs to come off and where all the screws are

I've had a look on the Givi site and the fitting instructions seem to be for the AN400.

There doesn't seem to be a panel with two bulges for the backrest like the one in my photo.

Lol, sorry to be such an idiot, but did they supply the non bulgy / flat panel then? If not, how do you fit the box over that raised section where the backrest fits?

All of that comes off including the frame that supports the back rest

This is what I'm confused about.
....If the scoot has Suzukis Passenger Backrest fitted like mine, you cannot fit the Givi Rack without replacing the rear panel.
The backrest is moulded into the panel and the rack will not fit.
The Plastic panel off of the standard model needs fitting in order to fit the Givi Rack.
