Touring tool kit.

Post by Red Dog »

Hi guys.

I'm hoping to do a 2/3 week tour covering ~2k miles on my 2009 B400. What tools should I take?

How much can you fettle,
zip ties,allen keys,gaffer tape,puncture repair kit,a couple of small spanners,screwdriver/posi/flat.
anything else you think might come in handy

I'm reasonably competent, I used to do basic work on my own cars back in the day when it was possible to actually do something to a car.

I suppose my biggest worry is having an unrepairable puncture and having to remove a wheel so that I can take it somewhere to have a new tire fitted.

BTW- How much would I expect to pay for say, a month's breakdown recovery insurance?

Lyn was upset in Spain as I had some female torx sockets to take Jaz's swing arm off with and he didn't .They had to borrow mine , I supervised while sun bathing on the decking .

Tis all true, Julian EVEN had the correct spare rear wheel bearing in his butty box  mind you he was on an Italin machine so LOTS of spares needed just in-case

Jaz besides being a good cook in the kitchen is a wizz at warming up a swing arm on a gas bbq so bearing knocks out with ease .So add him to your list

I'd take a spare belt at least you can get any garage to fit it .If it was me I'd put a new one one before tour if it needs one or not and take other as a spare
