new scooter owner here was given a piaggio x8 125cc non runner , seller told me the drive belt had snapped .
so at the minute its sat in my car port waiting for me to tinker!
previously owned geared 125cc specifically the ybr custom and a derbi terra which was a very good bike.
the scooter will be used to commute 30miles daily into bradford and will be using dual carriageways for the majority of miles.

im looking for abit of help as im not used to rollers and belts and obviously make some friends in the process.
Ohh also ex solider for 10 years have a young family and now work as a technician on the back of them big vans with blue flashing lights

welcome - belt and roller setup are all similar-ish
have a you tube google on piaggio belt change...
oil change every 2500 miles...
should see you right for a while...

Not always some belts could be a tad wider/longer. You measure the wear across the width of the belt at the top ( vernier ) required, rollers also width diameter and weight, you can tell when the rollers are knackered as you loose the top end. When you pull it apart they will have flats on them...Belt wear limit is two to three mm but a look at a manual ( or one of the guys on here ) will tell you the max wear/minimum width.

Sutty86, I was once told that wearing your blood group on your jacket/ dog tags etc helped the Paramedics, was this true or was it just nonsense

PS I actually wear my blood group on my dog tags anyway ( just to be on the safe side).
