Welcome. I too have one of these and am just over the 1000 mile mark myself.

Be good to have another's opinion. So far I am finding it stunningly competent but it sure but excite me. Well, except for the fuel economy which is much better than anything I've had before.

Never had a scooter in my life ,plenty of larger capacity bikes.I was on holiday in the south of France and they are nuts on scooters it was when I came home and checked out the Xmax 300 I thought thats the one for me.I had no expectations so couldn't be disappointed.I like everything about it apart from one thing. The rear suspension is very good on good road surfaces but as the bumps, holes appear so the does the quality of the rear suspension.Whether its a combination of 15 inch front 14 inch rear wheels I don't know. What I do know now is I look at the scenery as I pass by I no longer fly by and see nothing.Plus my wife stopped riding pillion on the Kawasaki but now she says Lets go out for the day on the scoot for me that is priceless

A trait of a lot of scooters when the going gets going on bumpy or uneven surface - the rear shocks trying to curtail a swung engine's (mass) movement...
All can be fine on smooth or moderate roads, then at a slightly elevated speed, or over bumpy road, things can feel like the front and rear get out of sync - like a clowns bicycle!
Enjoy ya scoot.
