Hmmm - it looks basically OK, though a bit overstyled in places.
£5k for a 300 scoot of unstated power & weight (and Sym aren't renowned for large power outputs) is a seriously premium price!!

Re: Cruisym300
Well my SYM Joymax 300 puts out 28.5hp (though many sites round it up to 29hp) and the Joymax 125 now has a 15hp motor. Bit heavy 192kg dry (prob 200-205kg wet) Looking it up the Cruisym produces 27hp & weighs 198kg dry I'd presume, guessing meeting new euro 4 has lost some power and added weight. I like it put aren't to interested in ownership due to price, increased weight, less power over my Joymax. If they was to produce it with the 125cc 15hp motor at less than 4k I might get one as personally once my Joymax goes I'll most likely just stick to 125's.MrGrumpy wrote:Hmmm - it looks basically OK, though a bit overstyled in places.

Re: Cruisym300
A reasonable power output then, though its on the heavy side. I guess the snag is for 'only' a grand approx more, you can get a Burger or Xmax 400, with significantly more power but little more weight, or for somewhat less, you can get some other 200-300cc scoots with almost as much power and less weight. btw I think Sym asking £4500 for a Joymax 125 is outrageous!!!Drago wrote: Looking it up the Cruisym produces 27hp & weighs 198kg dry I'd presume, guessing meeting new euro 4 has lost some power and added weight.

Re: Cruisym300
It's the same price as the Xmax300.
Which is all I have to say on the matter.

True and I'm sure the xmax is a better bike overall however its a cramped non feet forward seating position... where as the sym does appear to be full feet forward....better for the longer distance rides.....

Difficult call that one. As good as the yamaha is I'm sure both make the same power & are a similar weight & having seen the joymax & maxsym up close I can say they're very well/nicely screwed together. I haven't seen the cruisym yet but judging by the pictures it looks like it's underpinnings are all off the joymax which is no bad thing.

Re: Cruisym300
The SYM's only problem is the lack of a UK distributor, they are excellent quality and design.
I suppose it may be possible to find a good source of SYMs and spares in France, there's a good place in Greece for spares too (Makina parts IIRC) where I bought a fork seal when I broke the original one.
