I had a J300 for 3 years and can second that. The only niggle is that the clutch take-up can be noisy unless you really go for it so it encourages you to be a bit of a hooligan off the lights. Oh, and as Kawasaki's first modern scooter they held the service interval down to 3000 miles, compared to the Downtown's 6000. But honestly, that is not a really big deal as an intermediate oil change is recommended anyway. The J300 is IMHO a much better looking machine, especially in SE trim.horobags wrote:Kymco have just changed importer (july), so as long as parts arn't an issue I'd go for it Lyn. Had a go on a j300 which is the same thing, a really good scoot.
I think they are well built and economical machines. My little Kymco 125 People S was an excellent machine and easy to do own maintenance. I considered the Kymco Downtown 300 before I bought the Vespa but the seating position for me on the Downtown didn't suit my build. Whilst I think the £1700 is about right, if you could get a further couple of hundred pounds off and it suits your riding style, then I would go for it!kayz1 wrote:Any one got any idea what they are like please?
