Any one got any idea what they are like please?
CB Honda have a 3000 miler in for £1700, i could
get it a lot cheaper.. would it make a good winter
run around????

I nearly ended up with a downtown 300 (I posted on here at the time) It was BNIB & I recall I got the price down to about 2K. It had sold by the time I got back from holiday so missed out.
Roadrunner had viewed it also.

I think if the price is right a good winter hack & those who own them love them but I think tough to sell on

Thanks for that, i no people who have the more modern Sym and Kymco machines like them and they seem to be reliable enough...
It is just that i remember having to fix a few of the early machine for mates of mates...
Yes Bern that's the one, it does look nice with only 3000 miles on it. I am sure i could get a wedge knocked off it
I do not fancy running the X-ADV through the winter, all seems nice:: stainless fasteners and nice stainless spokes in
the wheels, it is just the sh1t it chucks every where in the wet, would be a pig of a job to TRY and keep clean over
winter.

My mate has had a 300i from new for just over 3 years. No problems, no issues at all.

Kymco have just changed importer (july), so as long as parts arn't an issue I'd go for it Lyn. Had a go on a j300 which is the same thing, a really good scoot.

I had a J300 for 3 years and can second that. The only niggle is that the clutch take-up can be noisy unless you really go for it so it encourages you to be a bit of a hooligan off the lights. Oh, and as Kawasaki's first modern scooter they held the service interval down to 3000 miles, compared to the Downtown's 6000. But honestly, that is not a really big deal as an intermediate oil change is recommended anyway. The J300 is IMHO a much better looking machine, especially in SE trim.

I think they are well built and economical machines. My little Kymco 125 People S was an excellent machine and easy to do own maintenance. I considered the Kymco Downtown 300 before I bought the Vespa but the seating position for me on the Downtown didn't suit my build. Whilst I think the £1700 is about right, if you could get a further couple of hundred pounds off and it suits your riding style, then I would go for it!
