Been on two wheels a lot of my life, we are in early sixties and retired!
We tour from between 3 and 6 months in our motorhome and trailer our 66 plate red sh 300 behind, primarily for a run around the local areas we end up camping at, been doing this for last six years, this last year with the 300 it covered 5000 miles, we don't own a car anymore so the scooter is our tender
Last summer tried a scooter only trip and went to the scooter rally on I O W which was good fun but not really japanese twist and go territory! All them 2 strokes had a job to see the ferry! But made us think about doing a bit more on the scooter
So we are looking for a bit of scooter friendly days out or camping weekends in nice places we could meet up and have a ride BBQ etc
Had 3 weeks in lakes and elan valley both great scooter riding last year, so are we in the right forum?

Hi Snail. Welcome. Must be good to be able to clear off for a few months.
A few of us visited Rhayader last summer. We were there for a long weekend,, some camped and others stopped in hotels. Weather wasn't very good though and some left early.
We're off to Belgium in July. Have a look in meets and rideouts section.

Welcome Snail. Several members on here own SH300 and all say nothing but good about them. One was on the Rhayader trip along with myself and a good few others. I know what you mean about " traditional" scooter riders as they call themselves. They think the only scooters are geared and Lambretta. Since giving up motorcycles due to Rheumatoid Arthritis I have attended several rallies and race meetings and found I was something of an outcast being on a automatic scooter. However this group does not pigeon hole anyone or any form of transport. Indeed the Rhayader trip saw a mix of scooters and motorbikes. Check out the Ride out section and also the Maxi Muppets Facebook page. Participate and enjoy.

Hi Snail, I'm not a million miles from you and pick up my new SH300 on Saturday, weather permitting. Perhaps we can do some trips into Wales, meeting somewhere on the border like Hereford?

Whereabouts? We originate from Weston and MIL still lives there. We are looking at downsizing, maybe to Radstock sort of area.

Portishead. We moved here from Birmingham 6 years ago. It was a good move.
