Xmax 300 tyre pressure
I check tyre pressures at least once a week, the first few times set to handbook recommendations. Then for some reason, possibly age related, I reverted to 36/42 psi, the same as my last 4 bikes. Now at 4500 miles the centre rear tread is down to 2mm and I felt slight disappointment with the wear rate. A little bit of anger and a bit more embarrassment, still at 66, I'm still not too old to learn lessons.

I'm no expert but I looked at the recommended pressure and it says 29psi. If you have it at 42psi then there's likely to be less contact with the road and consequently more wear.

Difficult for me to comment on wear rate as I fitted winter tyres but over-inflation generally leads to wear on the centre
I can tell you about the brake pads though - just having the fronts replaced at 5500 miles. I commute into central London so I would guess that might count as heavy use?
