Went for a ride round peak district yesterday, burger ,was a very nice ride ,comfortable quick,
not so keen on the handling though ,I can see my self dropping it
on very tight walking pace turns ,the long wheel base catches me out
,im sure my old Evo was easier to turn than this one

Re: Ride in the sunshine
I think we all suffer from the tight turns to some extent. Don't be afraid to stick your foot down or even get off and manhandle it. That's got to be better than breaking bits off. My main problem is stopping at junctions on back roads and putting my left foot down, only to find the camber drops off and there's nothing there. This is just a question of looking first, if it's low on the left, it will be high on the right, so put the other foot down. It's all a question of practice.

Re: Ride in the sunshine
I would have gone on the May Day run down to Hastings today from Locksbottom... Its the best weather I have seen on a May Day in all the time I have attended. Oh well, 9 months an a few weeks to go before I can ride again. Next year the weather better be as good.

Re: Ride in the sunshine
Sunday was an excellent day for a ride out. I usually go over Yorkshire, but, that cycling thing was on. So kept well away. Managed 168mls going from Bolton to Settle then on to Glasson dock, surprising thing was no where near as many bikes out as I would have expected on such a day. Okay by me though some great runs over the country lanes, still spoilt by the idiot cyclists that think they are on the tour de France and no one else is on the road. Why do they Never look behind them?

Re: Ride in the sunshine
In a nut shell, yes and I have had to hand my license in to the DVLA for a year.ridinhigh wrote:Why cant you ride now have been ill?
2 months ago I went home from work early feeling slightly ill, got a severe migraine in the middle of the night that made my whole body go numb temporarily, because I felt so drained and slept most of the next day it masked the fact I had caught H1N1 swine flu. As I have a lower seizure threshold vs most people, I have Epilepsy, the following night I started having Status Epilepticus (multiple epileptic seizures) brought on by the H1N1 and the migraine was a precursor. My wife followed my strict instruction that if I have one then don't call an ambulance, if I have another or don''t stop seizing after 20-30 seconds call an ambulance. The ambulance crew came out, sedated and intubated me (and later on the hospital added a feeding tube) and rushed me to hospital, where I stayed sedated in ICU for 2 days until they tried waking me up to see if I was still seizing. There was a risk that I would have brain damage, if my wife had not been aware of my seizing I could have died. Once I was awake my brain was very scrambled but I recognized my wife straight away much to her pleasure. It's still a bit screwy and I still get tired easily if I do too much at work which requires a lot of brain power.
Its just frustrating because:
- I now feel well enough to ride but I can't, I have to be seizure free for a year despite the cause being known and a rare coincidence.
- I had been seizure free for 15+ years.
- I had only just bought a NC750x, and only rode it 3 times before this occurred.
Thanks bud!kayz1 wrote:I have already booked the good weather for you Peter..
