Hi may be going to look at a local MK2 T max that has been sat in its garage for 3 odd years my friend says.

Its got less than 20K on and apparently smoked quite a bit at first start up ( would that be usual ? oil seeping etc ? ) then ran quite rough for a while.

Another day it then smoothed out and is apparently smooth now.

Going for a look and listen sometime so any thoughts etc please as will be a Barclays !!! job.

Supposed to reasonable nick overall.

Mk 2 has carburettors so no surprise it ran bad if it has been stood. Try fresh fuel and some Techron fuel system cleaner and a good long test ride, it should 'clear its throat'.
Smoking on first start could be because somebody knew the proper way to lay up and engine (teaspoon of oil in the bores). If it smokes every start up, walk away.

No, mk2 is Fuel Injected - only mk1 had carbs
