Kymco in France

Bumbling around France & now back into the Normandy region, stopped in a place called Belléme.

Actually saw a Kymco X-town (newish normal panel scrapes from falling down cobbled roads)

It's a 300cc (279cc in real money) retails about €5K

The downtown is now 350cc (329cc to be exact) & they're pushing the AK550.

Oh to have the choices Europe do

If we bought as many scooters as France (and a lot of other countries) we would have the choice. But as it is the attitude of the manufacturers and importers is it isn't worth giving us a large selection with the few of each we would end up buying.

I suppose prices will be going up even more in the UK from next year so that won`t help encourage anything.

A 329cc would be very good allround I am sure.

And of course the AK550, very very nice.

Seem to be a fair few AK`s being bought over there going by Youtube vids.

Best Mark.

It probably undercuts the competition (T max) by a fair margin, that's why. Much the same reason Maxsym 600i sales are starting to take off. Better value than the opposition.

Everyone blames the importer's if there's a limited market can't expect them to have valuable stock sitting there waiting to be sold .They are running a business and I'm sure they know what sells best and where the profit is. I'm sure if a Muppet collective went to an importer and said have 50 people wanting a specific model they would bring 50 in .

Stock showroom space offering demo rides costs money and they obviously don't think its worth it financially .If was a bigger demand and bigger market for maxi scooters they maybe would .For the big jap dealers infrastructure is already in place .
