Off to Dobles, via Wetherspoons... Can't do a deal on an empty stomach...
New 2020 Sh125, £3399, Prep fee £99, Tracker fit £99, Screen £137, Handguards £14 - £3748
Chatted about the £1100 estimated PX as 33,000 miles, home serviced and no service history etc...
Chatted some more...
He pressed buttons on the calculator a few times...
I came away with a deal i was happy with...
Available for collection expected sometime in March...

It's the Datatool TrackKing Adventure...
They are usually about £230ish, Free with the scoot but fitting is £100...
(Same tracker was free and free fitting back in Sept '19 on the NC)
Subscription is £100 for the year, or £10 month...
Same as on the NC, will run it a year and then see what effect it has on the insurance...

Based on the last two changes, I put £50 a month away in to the 'New Scooter Fund'...
4 Year, £2400, then the residual trade in £1000 - £1200... = New Scooter...
Basing it on a Season Ticket of £1800 - £2000 or so over the 4 years...
Another £50 a month petrol, another £50 a month to cover servicing, insurance, pair tyres etc.
Gonna break about even over the train, plus have the scoot for more than just getting to work...

Could do it cheaper, keep the scoot and run it into the ground...
But it will start having issues and cost to keep going...

Another year would be seeing 40,000 miles and the scoot not worth a lot... So i think i'm timing it about right...
Maybe I'll keep this Sh a while longer...

Yup,folks trade their scooters for a variety of reasons. Picking the best time/mileage financially is always a tricky decision. It's one we do with driving school cars and work vans from time to time.

Ultimately if the answer to, "How much to swap this for that?" is one you are prepared to accept, that's as good as it gets.

Looking forward to hearin about the new SH125 and how it stacks up, particularly against one you've put many miles on.

8-)
