I think only the Aussies get Hartfords anyway, don't they?

Well, they are only Hartfords in Australia anyway. I don't know what they are in their native Taiwan, so they could be sold as another brand somewhere else.

Interestingly, Hartford dealers usually sell smaller scooters from a variety of different brand names we don't see in the UK. Interestingly, all these scooters bear striking similarities to Lexmotos sold in the UK. 8-)

Really testing my brain cells now, but that's jump started my memory into action, Dezzie.

I seem to recollect a couple of bikes being sold badged with the Hartford name in 2010/11-ish. I'm guessing the dates because it was when my Daughter was looking at universities, and I checked out any bike dealers in the vicinity of each uni she looked at.

I think I remember a couple of Monkey models with Cub-clone motors, but maybe just one as you've said, and a mini bike with a CG-clone motor. I think they may have been imported and badged by the same importers/distributors as Skyteam.

Hartford is a new one on me! The one in the video looks familiar....no doubt a close copy of something else!

Never seen or heard of 'Hartford' in Australia. In a small scooter market it would be noticed.

I actually sold some Hartford legion 125s in the late 90s, I worked for a Ford dealership and I new the then importer of Hartford bikes and PGO scooters (Eco Scooters) Measham North West Leicestershire and got the dealership management to stock some bikes and scooters. We actually did very well with them, and also noticeably we didn't have a single warranty claim. From that time I respected the quality of Taiwanese products as opposed to the Chinese. As far as I can recall E. P. Barrus took over the importation for a while alongside Hyosung at the time.

Good info, cheers. That fills in a few gaps.

This was the mini bike I was remembering:-
