Ride wide?

While I was touring in Italy I was shocked to find that my rear tyre went from 'Getting a bit thin' to 'Oh my God' in the space of one long day.

Not without some difficulty I found a repair shop willing to fit me a new tyre while I waited.

The closest size match they had for my original 130/70 13 was a 150/70 13 but the mechanic assured me it would be fine. I was in no position to argue so agreed to have it fitted.

In truth, I can't say I noticed much difference to the ride or the handling but I was quite heavily laden at the time.

Now I'm due for another new rear tyre.

Would you fit another 150/70 13 or revert back to the original size?

Oh well! It's an RS, going by the fairing, but I can't quite read the sticker on the side.
I do like beemers!

Your new tyre is essentially wider than the original. Whilst it may only affect the handling slightly, its best to check that it safely clears the swinging arm / drive shaft / mudguard etc and isnt rubbing against anything .
