The numbers all look good; I'd much rather a lower-powered machine that delivers it's best in low down torque, rather than something that you're constantly revving the knackers off. The worst bit about it for me is the awful cruiser styling, but - as you say - the upright seating position is a good thing.
Me, I would much rather have the Bullet, although I gather they are finally discontinuing it?
They are retiring the Bullet motor. The Meteor is, in effect, its replacement.
A brief conversation with my local Enfield dealer revealed that they consider the 350 Meteor motor an upgrade on the Bullet 500 in all respects.
According to him, we will be seeing it in UK showrooms next year.
Whether that's fact of bollocks remains to be seen. I actually like it too, so I hope we do see it.

Things don`t seem to get seen much there.
I am really hopeful that Royal Enfield may make an affordable proper scooter, especially as they have such a good dealership and back up in the UK.
But the meteor really looks like a great bike for an older rider as well.

Probably why I quite like it, even the styling, (Jaz is probably reading this again to confirm I said that!).
I made another call today. That source also stated that the Meteor will be part of the UK 2021 range
Also the price will be under £4k.

There's been no mention of it. It wouldn't be totally out of character for them, though. Back when Enflield India tok over from the UK based company, they produced a scooter for over a decade, but ony sold in their home market.
It was called the Enfield Fantabulous.
