A fine bike, - and with a fairing and boxes too!

Re: CX650
If you found a Turbo Cptn it’ll be expensive, just seen one on the Bay- asking price £20,000 - you’re better off without Turbo as there’s less to go wrong and turbo parts are like hen’s Teeth, I’ve seen stated that the turbo can reach 118mph but I’ll be happy to plod along at 60ish most times, then of course there’s Insurance - if one can afford it?Capt. Ah, I can't recall which CXs were turbo'd. Yours is an E then, I don't remember the 650 in those days Jim. The VT followed soon after with the Revere nd NTV.
Good bikes but keep it simple....
There were far less 650’s than 500’s, as far as the ‘650 European’ goes they were made for two years (83- 85) which was the end for CX’s

Hi Cptn, just in case you’re still looking - this one’s on Gumtree and looks pretty respectable: https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda-motorbi ... 1394243919Capt. I have very fond memories of my own '83 CX500, reverse comstar wheels model in black, bought in '87. Wish now, I'd kept her rather than sell in '92.
Will you let us know what the problem is with it not starting and the remedy? Perhaps a few photos too? No pressure though!
Looks as though it might be closer to you?

Re: CX650
so did i a black cx 500a over to holland had it 18 months 14500 approx miles, think it was a bit top heavy in the wet, then coming past a kawasaki dealer that was it a kawasaki gpz 1100 b2,so that was it.
see the cx 500 some years later off bermondsey st.se1 it had been round the clock twice but was still going.

CX 500, substantial comfortable bikes, very nice to ride. I remember they came in red, blue, and black - had one of each over the years. Enjoyed them all.

Re: CX650
Well yes they do look a trite ‘top heavy’ but I like the design for its quaintness - much like my previous ‘52 Sunbeam S8, I don’t intend doing long trips or riding in the wet on it, - too old at 83 to worry about such trivialities, but I do hope I can still get on it - but forget ‘Bump Starting’ as I did in my youth - but now having had two h/a’s and 9 coronary stents my ‘Cat’s Lives’ must be numbered!

Jimo. Could this be the reason your paperwork is taking so long ?

Re: CX650
There’s only one trouble with the CX’s - they’re a bit too nickable so I’d never let mine out of sight!
That’s a Very nice 500 with very interesting back rest,- a superb bike, look after it......
