The website the ad directs you to says the donor machine had a 10" wheel and the engine from with either a Honda CN250 (Fusion) and CH250 (Spacy).

It also says it's met it's reserve with a bid at £1600.

Always liked the Messerschmitt, sounds like they managed to get the steering
a bit to org, if you look at a org one it is likely to have cracks on the steering
yoke, the steering is very heavy and quick.

I commissioned the last Tri-Tech Schmitt that was produced by the 'factory', i.e. Rick working by himself. It looked great but was a death trap of bad design and bodging. For example a 'new' car had a bald rear tyre which was marked 'front wheel only'....the rest was just as bad. Eventually after a lot of work the car was brilliant and could be driven at 60 mph with no problem. The biggest problem is the track is too narrow, 8" narrower than a KR200. When this was fixed plus a hydraulic steering damper it was OK if treated with reasonable care. Wish I still had it!

The reason I came across it was this

watch the Clarkson video, very funny. Not sure I'd feel safe driving one locally.

I saw a Messerschmitt copy at a car show a few years ago.
That one had a Japanese import Honda 250 4 cylinder engine with a 6 speed gearbox fitted 😳

Andy, Are you sure it was not the Tri-Tech Zetta? That was fitted with the 4 cylinder engine but the Schmitt does not have room to fit such an engine.
