Suzuki an400 burgman K9 - funny noise

I have just recently bought my burgman and its just gone passed the 500 miles mark. The first service has been booked for next tuesday but only this week I have begun to notice a funny noise.
From a stationary position and at about 3-4000 revs the machine was making a funny whirring noise. This has now developed in to the whole bike shuddering, but only from a stationary position.
Has anyone experianced something similar or have any posible ideas to what this may be?
I thought I would try and get a heads up on it first, thanks in advance!!!

Could be the Clutch........
Not an unknown fault on the earlier K7 models, but I thought that they had fixed that fault with updated parts.
Could be glazed clutch shoes.......did you run it in as per the manual by any chance?
That could cause that problem, Suzuki's running in method for the AN400 is absolutely crazy!

Sounds like clutch.
As Andy says, early K7's had problems with noise & juddering, but clutches have since been updated.

They can still 'squeak' at times (my K8 does occasionally when I first pull away after it's not been used for a few days) but it shouldn't shudder.

I think the K9 clutch has been updated again from the K8.

I know you've only just bought it, but is it definately a K9 model?

Im pretty sure its a K9. I only got it last month from the dealer new with an 09 plate.
Is this problem quite an easy one to fix?

Page 1 of the service record book will have a Suzuki sticker identifying the model K number.
Should also also be shown in V5 registration cert.

Best get it checked at service & fixed under warranty if there is a problem.

Good luck

How strange, my Burgman AN400 K9 has started to judder on take off from standing yesterday.
The judder is quiet severe.

2000 miles on the clock. I first noticed this on our 2 up trip back from Wales (160 miles).

Not sure if it is related to temperature - will have another go soon.

The bike is only 8 weeks old, so this looks like a matter we will be discussing with the dealer.

I have a Burgman 400AN K8 was thinking myself time for dealer to look at it, little bit of a judder .. too. Now I recognise the Burgman growl..../squeel sometimes and not worried about that but at certain low speeds.. say 30 she definately judders.. dont like it.

like others have said it sounds like the clutch problem that the 400 suffers from.and should be a warrenty claim.mine did it ,but only a little bit so never changed it.

I always find its from a standing start and the judder happens at around 3-4k rev mark, at low speeds. once i speed up it dissappears completely but the more I ride it, the judder gets worse. Ive got the bike booked for its first service on tuesday afternoon with georgewhite's in slough. Will keep you updated on what happens.
