New Sym
After previously owning a Sym Maxsym 400i which I found a very good scooter I was looking forward to the new one coming to our shores, but on contacting MotoGB as to when we may see the new 400i they said that they had no plans to bring the 400i but they were trying to negotiate a price with Sym to bring the 500tl instead. We wait!

Yeah.....but that's roughly what they were saying at least a year ago! I suppose Covid has got in the way of many things.....

Re: New Sym
I own an SYM Joymax 300. I was hoping to replace that in the future with the new Joymax Z which is essentially the same scooter but restyled & lighter. Or even the new 400 But nope, Moto GB aren't importing any SYM Maxi's at present. Saying that they are hopeless at getting parts. Been waiting since September for a radiator fan for my Joymax under warranty. When My throttle body needed replacing that was a six week wait. MotoGB are hopeless and dragging the brand down all they want to sell is the ordinary 50/125's. Thing is Europe has many of the new SYM Maxi models it's just here we're let down. I've been using SYM's since 2004 but now I really can't recommend one as the importer is crap. Weirdly normal consumables air filters, brake pads, belts etc. No issue. Just when something breaks your stuffed as they don't seem to carry any spares - throttle bodies, panels, radiator fans which is stupid especially when they have a five year warranty!

Re: New Sym
That pretty much sums up the situation.

Re: New Sym
I have to be honest, the new design to the maxsym 400 is not great. the current 400/600 is decent ,I own the 600.. it has no sportiness to its design ques. the rear is fantastic. the front looks crooked eyed and the round face line is not great. the opposite of the burgman 400 where the rear on the b400 looks very boring and generic and the front looks really nice.
the new 400i just lacks design to any direction. very generic. nothing stands out as striking. they tried to compete with the xmax but it looks generic and similar to a bloated citycom 300 or old styling cues of the xciting 500 gen 1 from 10+ years ago. the muffler looks like a bbq gas canister. and if youre trying to give the bike a sporty look by creating a large space under the rear tire/seat(like tmax/xmax and motorcycles do) then you have to give the body a sporty/angled look. those 2 things dont match. either give it under sear room as a tourer or make sporty styling its theme. it does neither.
btw, I have 3 sym scooters. so im not negging as a brand hater. I think the 400 does not stand out amongst the massive amount of 300-400 scooters available. look at the downtown the xciting 400, xmax, burgman and silver wing, forza and it lacks. if you want to attract someone to get into the brand, then aesthetics is critical as a first step. competition is fierce in this category and thats without adding tons of used scooters available. they could have done much better. reminds me of first gen kia rio cars. decent and generic.
but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Re: New Sym
Defo a shame, I quite like many Sym models, but there are lots of decent scoots out there where parts arn't an issue.
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.
