Just thinking ahead since I only got my BV350 a couple of weeks ago. Having a few niggles with it but its made me realise I maybe dont want to hand over the servicing of it to just any bike mechanic. Trouble is I live out in the sticks at the top of the North Yorkshire Dales between Richmond and Barnard Castle.

Can anyone recommend anyone preferably within a 50 mile radius that wont take my eyes out, knows this bike inside out and maybe offers a pick up service? I would be happy to pay someone local if they were recommended and knew the bike. Maybe even a member on here.

I think the nearest Piaggio dealer will be Newcastle. If you're not worried about the main dealer bit AutoMoto Racing at Bellerby are pretty good but I don't know how much experience they have of scooters. I've used them for bikes but look after the Silverwing myself.
It's all part of the joys of living out in the sticks.

Cheers. Yeah tell me about it. Finding decent tradesman of all descriptions let alone Piaggio mechanics up here is a nightmare. Sheep, cows and horticultural specialists no bother.

With my Bev, I used Transit Motorcycles in York - slightly handier for me than fighting my way into Newcastle. They seemed like decent chaps. They are right in the middle of York, so you can have a day out in the city while you wait. Mo-tech in Newcastle have a good reputation, though never used them.
For anything that doesn't require a specific authorised dealer to work on it, I use Crofton Court M/Cs in Stockton. Thoroughly decent chaps and helped me out of a few holes! My Tmaxs are always there......They might do pickups, but you'd probably have to pay them.

Thanks for the recommendations. Those were the two I came up with googling. York sounds good.

Bingo, if you have any specific questions about your BV I may be able to help you from afar (I'm down in Nth Essex). I'm ex-tech and ex-engine design and development engineer. I have quite a bit of experience on Piaggio machines now, mainly the big scooters and GTS and some BV's with the 300 motors. But the 350 is a piece of cake too from what I see of it. It has a more complex clutch system (wet compared to dry on most others) but apart from that it's pretty conventional. If you need me on Modern Vespa I'm 'stromrider' where you can of course post to me or pm me, just like you can here. But there are lots of folks on here too like Grumpy that has had this machine and I'm sure is a wealth of knowledge. Glad it's all sorted. Post often with you exploits!
