Honda X-ADV 2021 Coolcover

Post by 987mike »

Hello from germany!
I‘d shortly like to introduce myself. My name ist Michael from Hildesheim (lower saxony). Since May I own a 2021 Honda X-ADV and I love it. What a great bike! I already drove about 7500 pleasant kilometers with it. The Honda replaced my 2018 BMW R1200GS.
On my BMW I hab a seat cover from www.coolcovers.co.uk

Great comfort and a nice cool bum on hot days. I‘d like to get one for my 2021 X-ADV also, BUT they need a sample to make one.
Is someone here who is able to ride to them, so that they are able to tailor a coolcover??? Unfortunately they are not able to organize an X-ADV :-(

Thank you for your support,
Best regards, Michael

The picture shows the cover from my GS on the honda!

Hi Michael and welcome to the Muppets. I’m quite familiar with your part of the world ;) as I was a soldier in the 1970’s stationed at Hameln not far up the road from you. You have lovely roads to ride on. Hope you enjoy your new bike icon_power-ranger.gif

Hi Stibbs, yes, that´s true. I prefer the Weserbergland for riding, but also the Harz has got a few lovely roads :-)

Welcome Michael,
I’m sure you enjoy the big scoot life and comfort.
What was the reason you got rid off your GS?
Too many dramas and money on maintenance?
Cheers

Well,- I´ve hab a Yamaha Tmax 500 parallel to the GS. The X-ADV was supposed to replace the Tmax, but then, after having the X-ADV , I thought this thing drives so well, that I don´t need the GS anymore. I realy love it. It´s capabilities are very close to this of the GS, and it´s more agile, lighter and practical.
Engine ist great, very powerful and strong, espacially at low revs. Gearbox is a piece of art. Chassis is extremely predictabel an precise. The Honda is very, very fast on curvy roads, faster than the GS,- you can believe it or not ;-). And with the GS, I was faster than a friend with his KTM 1290 Super Duke R. And up to speeds of about 130km/h your close to them on the straights. Yes, I know, that´s unbelievable, but it´s the truth, and the KTM guy is a pretty good rider.

I had a few issues with the GS. Loose spokes, rusted driveshaft, electronics, rearbrake and an engine failure (29500km), because of a broken intake valve. Quality and price of BMW´s GS don´t match anymore,- my opinion.

Now I installed the SHAD luggage system on the X-ADV for travelling. Enormous 163 Liters of luggage space!

Sorry guys for my english, school´s a long time ago ;-)

It is a very good looking bike 👍
Congratulations.
I would have a test ride one but unfortunately it is not available in Australia ☹️
