I've ordered one! In the matt red. Should be along in June to replace my Forza 300.

I was offered a good trade-in with enough to cover the final PCP payment as well as the deposit on this, and am having Oxford heated grips, a rack for my existing top box and the service plan. On a new PCP that comes out at £90 a month for 5k miles a year. I should be retiring close to when the contract ends so I plan to avoid paying the bubble payment at the end by just handing it back. I'll probably get a cheap run-around when I no longer need a reliable commuter.

I was told that availability on all colours for the ADV350 is good. Well, if 6-8 weeks is considered good. :( The dealer expected that a Forza 350 would not be delivered for possibly 4 or 5 months. :o

My newest helmet is in a very similar colour to that red colour - does that mean that I should buy an ADV350 to match my helmet? There again, I had a yellow helmet and bought a yellow Tmax to match, but the shades of yelllow were so different they clashed terribly!

Nice.

I had decided to change and narrowed the list down to either one of these or a Burgman 400. I couldn't find anywhere local that had the ADV in stock and I was reluctant to buy without seeing, although they get good write ups everywhere. But my local dealer had a new Euro 5 Burger 400 in stock, with the blue wheels, which match my Vstrom, and when I sat on it it felt just right, so I have gone with that, and available immediately for a forthcoming trip to Scotland.

I like yours, I hope I don't live to regret my choice....!

Had a few burgers 400! Definitely adv a better bike.....burgers only 28 bhp but 212kg weight... sluggish and really noisy air box....poor front suspension too...just being honest...

Burger 400s used to be 33bhp, even in their early days. When did it change - was at the last restyle when the whole thing shrank?

Yes, 32bhp with the carbs and 385cc motor early on. Then 33bhp with the initial 399cc motor and then my 2012 was 34bhp and 36.3nm of torque (quoting bhp instead of ps as there is barely any difference as you will know). Since then (from 2016 if I remember correctly) the power output has fallen, first to 30.7bhp and then to 29bhp now. However, it's still very lively to ride as torque is produced at lower rpm (4900rpm) instead of 5400rpm. The main shift has been to give increased mpg and very smooth power. The engines remain one of the most reliable of any two wheeled vehicle and totally bullet proof. The motors run easily over 100,000 miles if serviced correctly and I've seen them with 115,000 miles on the clock without ever needing anything major doing to them. Switching to fully synthetic motorcycle oils (not car oils!) is a very good idea and provides extra protection against wear over big mileages. But don't do that until the bike has at least 7500 miles on the clock as that's how long the 400's take to fully bed in and finish conforming. Fully synthetics will stop the conforming process from happening if used too soon.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'! :lol:

Ok thanks for the tips, although a hundred thousand miles plus is about fifty years for me, so it's good to hear the bike will still be going strong years after I've gone.....!

I'm a pootler, out to enjoy the fresh air, the open road ( I choose quiet B roads wherever possible), the scenery, and most of all the feeling of freedom either of my bikes gives me. The last horsepower is not a major issue.

But the ADV350 does look great, when there are enough around to be able to see one in the flesh before I commit, its definitely a bike I will consider in the future.....
