2017 sh300i instrument cover removal

Post by Billymc »

I've been a diy biker most of my adult life but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the instrument covers on my 2017 sh300i. Very frustrating. Can't   see the screw heads I need to get at. Manual shows where they are on pre-2017 models but my later model must have a change. HELP!

Partly thank you. The PDF shows the handle cover garnish being removed but doesn't say how exactly. It does show four or five attachment points but not clear if they are clips of some sort or screwed. I have a couple of labels on the cover which I guess may be covering screw heads. Can anyone say how they've managed to remove this? I need to get to the brake fluid reservoir.

This video is from a slightly older model but maybe of some assistance

Thanks but the cover arrangement on the later model is different. Removal instructions are most illusive.

Honda seems determined that only Honda dealers with access to the official workshop manual be allowed to top up or replace brake fluid. Ridiculous.

I think it’s a case of employing the hairdryer to the panel being removed and “carefully prise it off” the pdf i gave you clearly shows where the tabs/lugs are located

Ahhh so you think it should just pull off? Why the hairdryer?

It softens the plastic and makes it more flexible.
