Sadly I'm going to have to sell my Maxi it's just not getting used, only done about 200 miles since the last MOT in July 2021!

It's a black SYM JOYMAX 300i on a 2012 plate, 13,000 miles on the clock, MOT until July 31. 2022. New battery last year, belt and rollers 3 years ago. It's pretty tatty but no cracked panels or major scrapes.

What should I expect it to fetch?

I guess the best way is to look in Autotrader or ebay ads to see if you can find something similar. If I had to guess, I'd say something around £1500 or so, possibly a little more.

I believe used bikes are fetching a decent price at the moment. I agree with grumpy though, check the usual sales sites and compare. Even get a quote from the “we buy bikes” type people you see advertised. Be realistic when you price it.

Thanks @MrGrumpy @Stibbs I've had a look on eBay but the closest I could find was a 2016 with 9,000 miles at £1,999 so I was thinking maybe a grand. I'm probably going to try one of those we buy any bike guys from the local paper but I was dreading the old "Well how much do you want for it" question.

You can probably get a price from WeBuyAnyBike.com.....but I'd rather set fire to my scoot rather than have any dealings with them again!

I'd say £1000-1500 private sale. I believe the 2012 models lacked ABS nor had the stop/start fitted on later models which may make them less desirable for anyone after a Joymax.

I'd never heard of them but it would seem they don't know SYM make scooters, no option on their website!

Yes you're correct, no ABS or stop/start.

Their definition of, "any," is probably different to that of most people.

I have a similar problem. My Silverwing 600 is just too heavy for me now, and i really need to sell it. I did try one of these "we buy any bike" sites. someone emailed me saying they valued my bike at £900. and they were a trader. They never asked for any details of my bike. They then said give us a day to come and view,so i did. They then said we are not coming on that day but then started asking questions about the bike. I told them it was a 2014 600 M.O.T till August 2022 with 45200 miles on it and i was the original owner. After them asking silly questions again, i said forget it. Good luck with your attempt.
